Tesla launched Model X in September 2015. This 370km/230 miles-range SUV is a follow-up vehicle to Tesla’s Model S sedan.
2. VW Passat GTE
The VW Passat GTE is a plug-in hybrid unveiled in 2014. In its all-electric mode, the model can drive up to 50 km/31 miles.
3. Chevrolet Bolt
GM unveiled the Bolt EV concept at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The affordable 322 km /200 miles-range sedan will hit the market in late 2016 or early 2017.
4. Chevrolet Spark EV
The Spark EV is a pure electric coupe released in 2014. The car’s official range is 132km /82 miles. The vehicle is considered one of the most efficient EV on sale today, but its availability is limited.
5. BMW X5 eDrive
This plug-in hybrid is expected to compete well with Tesla's Model X. BMW claims 830km total range for this fully-fledged SUV showcased in 2015.
6. Audi A3 E-Tron
The Audi A3 E-Tron is a Plug-in hybrid luxury vehicle. The car came on sale in 2014 and 2015 depending on the market. The vehicle's electric-only range is about 29 kilometers /18 miles.
7. Fiat 500e
This 2014, 140km/87 miles-range, sedan by Chrysler is a compliance car and irrelevant to people living outside California, US.
8. KIA Soul EV
This electric sedan has an estimated range of 149 km /93 miles on a full charge. Sales began in mid-2014.
